Robert Smith, a Branson native and Highlandville Elementary School’s longtime custodian, has spent his life serving others. After overcoming early challenges, including graduating high school without the ability to functionally read or write.
Robert found purpose in a role that brought him pride and connection. For 17 years, he had a steady, trusted presence at the school, know for his kindness, reliability, ans unwavering dedication. From early mornings unlocking doors to supporting school events and opening the FEMA storm shelter during severe weather, Robert was always there when it mattered most. Robert is a devoted father of three and grandfather of six.
Robert is now facing his toughest battle: a recent diagnosis of stage 4 cancer and lymphoma.
Unable to work, he is living in a small camper on family land, holding onto his independence while undergoing treatment. With mounting medical bills, travel cost, and the emotional toll of his diagnosis, Robert needs the support of the community he served so faithfully.

This is our chance to give back to someone who gave so much. Let’s come together to lift up Robert, just as he’s lifted others for so many years.
